Search for missing Jay Slater enters ninth day

Jay Slater missing Tenerife

Police cars were spotted near the beginning of a trail in the mountains, not far from where Mr. Slater's phone was last located.

The hunt for Jay Slater, who has been missing for nine days since his last communication in Tenerife, continues.

The teenager, who is 19 years old and from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire, went missing when he tried to go back to his place to stay after the NRG festival on June 16th.

The apprentice bricklayer was staying in a flat in the northern part of the Spanish island with some friends he had met at the gathering. However, when he missed the bus the next morning, he phoned a friend to let her know he was planning to walk the 10-hour journey back.

Additionally, Mr. Slater informed her that his phone battery was at 1%, he was completely lost, and was in urgent need of water.

On Monday, there were police cars parked at the beginning of a trail in the Rural de Teno National Park, near where Mr. Slater's phone was last located.

Experts and their trained dogs have been deployed to search for him, with a large portion of the operation concentrating on a location near a national park in the north-western region of Tenerife.

Mr. Slater's dad is asking for help from the people in Santiago del Teide. The family moved there because they heard a rumor about someone seeing them in the area.

Warren Slater mentioned that someone "has to be informed about something."

"I only wish for him to be located. That's it," he further mentioned.

Emergency teams concentrated their search efforts on the outbuildings located within the national park.
