Debbie Duncan has traveled to the island and expressed her distress as it has been 2 days since anyone has heard from Jay Slater.

After attending the NRG music festival, a young apprentice bricklayer who hailed from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire decided to part ways with his friends during their night out. The apprentice was only 19 years old.

According to his family, he left with two men he had met in the wee hours of Monday and drove for approximately 40 minutes to reach a national park.

On social media, a poster was posted by the loved ones of Jay Slater which displays his final whereabouts.

Just before 9:00 in the morning, he contacted his buddy Lucy and informed her that he was endeavoring to trek for 10 hours all the way back to their lodging in Playa de las Americas, but he was running out of water and his phone had only 1% battery left.

After the call ended abruptly, there has been no sign or communication from Mr. Slater.

On Sunday evening, some updates on social media displayed Mr Slater wearing a grey t-shirt containing green patches on its shoulders. He could be seen smiling in the image.

At 07:30, he shared a picture where his hand was seen holding a cigarette at the location he had journeyed to with the two gentlemen.

The place where he was last seen was on a track located in the hilly Rural de Teno national park, which is situated in the north-west region of the island.

Ms. Duncan informed the BBC that she has been unable to sleep, and the situation feels surreal to her.

This was his inaugural overseas vacation with his pals and I was motivating him to embark on the journey. I uttered, "You will thoroughly enjoy yourself."

According to her, she and the friends of her son were able to deduce his whereabouts on the night he went missing. It was established that he drove away in a car at approximately 6 in the morning.

On the day Jay Slater disappeared, he uploaded an image to Snapchat.

According to her, Jay doesn't usually consume alcohol, but on that particular night, he drank shots and hard liquor.

People enjoy spending time with him and he was jovially conversing with these individuals.

He was not aware of the risk, he was not alert, he only desired to enjoy himself.

Ms Duncan reported that her son seemed calm and not anxious about the individuals he departed with, according to Lucy's phone call.

However, his companion remarked that it seemed as though he was not aware of the great distance he had covered after departing from the popular tourist location situated in the southern region of the island.

According to her, his loved ones believed he had taken his bank card and cash with him. He had also committed his mother's phone number to memory, which would have allowed him to make a call if he had the chance to borrow a phone.

Ms. Duncan expressed her gratitude for the tireless efforts of the local authorities such as the police and mountain rescue teams in looking for her child. They have utilized the use of modern technology such as drones and dogs to aid their search.

However, she mentioned that her desperation was gradually increasing.

According to her, he is a very friendly and cheerful person who has many friends who enjoy his presence.

"He is stunning, he is lovely. He is the apple of my eye."

A representative from the Foreign Office informed the BBC that they are providing assistance to the family of a British gentleman who was reported missing in Spain. They also stated that they are communicating with the relevant authorities in the area.
