New Woman In Town

Even though there were clear warning signs in her relationship timeline, Thomson's intelligence and ability to express herself make it difficult to criticize her or the other victims too severely.

This classic 1951 thriller directed by Alfred Hitchcock and based on Patricia Highsmith's debut novel showcases the director's talent. The movie is filled with tension as Farley Granger's character, a tennis pro named Guy, becomes entangled in a murder plot orchestrated by the mysterious Bruno (played by the captivating Robert Walker). In this scheme, Bruno plans to kill Guy's wife while Guy is expected to eliminate Bruno's father in return. There are also recurring symbols such as spectacles and lighters, a subtle commentary on academia (with hints of homoeroticism), and appearances by both Hitchcock himself and his daughter.

The Mask will be airing on BBC One at 4.30pm. Following the popularity of Ace Ventura, Jim Carrey stars in this comedy as a boring bank clerk named Stanley who discovers a magical mask in the river. When he puts it on, he becomes a fun-loving, super-powered green-faced character. The film includes nods to the Norse god Loki and has a lot of slapstick comedy and humor similar to Looney Tunes cartoons. Stanley's transformation leads to him pursuing Cameron Diaz's character, a mob girlfriend, in a funny and entertaining way.

Top-tier English football match between Brentford and Crystal Palace will kick off at 1pm on Sky Sports Main Event. The highly anticipated clash between Chelsea and Manchester City will follow at 4pm.

Cricket for Women: Catch the Women's final of The Hundred tournament at 2pm on BBC Two. The match will take place at Lord's. Stay tuned for the men's final at 5.30pm.
