A huge fan of fighting, Jason Statham was thrilled when one of the greatest legends in combat sports showed up to meet him during his movie shoot.

The actor and the current world champion had a great time talking to each other.

The current Glory kickboxing world champion has risen to international fame, capturing the attention of celebrities worldwide who admire the Dutch fighter's fierce determination.

Thanks to his impressive achievements, the well-known fighter has had the chance to explore various countries. At one point, he even visited the UK, where he coincidentally crossed paths with Jason Statham, who was on set filming a movie.

When their shared acquaintances found out that both celebrities were in the country, they made extra efforts to arrange an in-person meeting between them.

In a special chat with Bloody Elbow, Verhoeven shared an interesting tale about how he met Jason Statham. He recounted being in London for an interview when friends from Los Angeles reached out. They said, "Hey, we're in London filming with Jason. You should come by; he’d really like to meet you." Verhoeven noted that Statham is a big fan of martial arts.

They gave me the location, which was a drive of about an hour and a half. It was wild because London is so big. We arrived, and that’s when I met Jason.

"I was just hanging out while he was busy with his work. He looked at me and said, 'I can’t believe you’re actually here, it’s great to meet you.' I replied, 'I’m really glad to be here.' That became one of the highlights of my experience."
