Janet Jackson gets emotional performing Michael duet Scream

Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson feels a strong emotional connection every time she sings 'Scream' during her concerts, as it reminds her of her brother Michael who has passed away.

Janet Jackson becomes deeply moved when she sings Scream, the track she collaborated on with her beloved brother Michael Jackson.

The 58-year-old vocalist joined forces with the legend of pop music to create the duet in the mid-1990s. She has brought the song back to life for her current 'Together Again Tour,' with Janet performing alongside video clips of her deceased brother. She is filled with intense emotions each time she performs the song.

Janet shared with the BBC: "I still feel a strong emotional connection when I hear him every night, watching him, recalling our time together. Mike and I collaborated on that song while in New York, at his place."

"Remembering that experience, hearing him sing the song, and recalling the challenges he faced during that period brings back memories. As his younger sister, I was always there to support him. It has always been my role."

In 2009, Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 50 due to an unintentional drug overdose.

Janet will be touring Europe in September with her 'Together Again Tour', marking her return to the UK for the first time in 13 years. Her last performance in England was back in 2019 at the famous Glastonbury music festival, where she graced the stage in the legends slot.

The tour in Europe includes visits to France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

In a video on her social media pages, Janet happily shared the news of an additional leg of her tour, expressing gratitude to her fans for making it her most successful tour yet.

"Hey Europe, it's been a while since we last caught up, but the time has finally come. I will be touring all around Europe this autumn with my 'Together Again Tour'. I'm so excited to reunite with all of you."

I really miss you. We had a lot of fun doing this show and I can't wait to have more fun with all of you. Look forward to seeing you in the autumn!
