Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx has shared the reason behind his hospital stay in April of last year.
During a Netflix special, the star of Django Unchained shared with the audience that he experienced a "brain bleed that resulted in a stroke."
He mentioned that he had a severe headache one day and requested aspirin. However, before he could take it, he fainted and doesn’t remember anything for the next 20 days.
At that time, my daughter Corinne Foxx mentioned that he was facing a "medical complication," but the family did not provide any specific information about his health problems.
During an emotional conversation with the audience for "Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was..." recorded in Atlanta—the city where he was working when he fell sick—Foxx shared that the doctors initially sent him home after administering a cortisone shot.
My sister came over to check on him and noticed that he wasn't acting like himself. So, she decided to take him to Piedmont Hospital in her car.
After the doctor informed him that he has a brain bleed that has caused a stroke, he added, "If I don't operate on him immediately, we will lose him."
He mentioned that his sister was praying the entire time he was in surgery outside the operating room.
Doctors were unable to determine the source of the brain bleed.
Foxx also shared with the audience that "your life doesn’t just flash before your eyes; it feels more peaceful. I saw a tunnel, but I didn’t see any light."
It was a joke: "It was really warm in that tunnel, am I heading to the wrong place?"
Foxx mentioned that the doctor told his family, "He may be able to fully recover, but it will be the toughest year of his life."

The star expressed his admiration for his sister Deidra Dixon and daughter Corinne, highlighting how they’ve been supportive and ensured that he remains out of the public eye.
"I don't want you to see me this way, and I know you don't want to see me like this either," he told his fans.
He showed signs that his head movements were slightly unsteady after the stroke, and his daughter is concerned that people might make memes about him.
He said he woke up on May 4, 2023, and found himself in a wheelchair because he was unable to walk, although he couldn’t recall the reason. He also mentioned that initially he was in denial, thinking, "Jamie Foxx isn’t having a stroke."
He mentioned that he would later go through rehabilitation in Chicago.
Foxx was filming the Netflix movie "Back In Action" with Cameron Diaz when he suddenly fell ill.
Since then, he has often mentioned the support he has received from his family, but this is the first time he is providing specific details about his situation.
