The launch of Strictly Come Dancing had a humorous moment when EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick was playfully labeled a "cheat" for winning the Christmas Special last year. The glitzy ballroom competition kicked off its 20th season on Saturday, September 14, with hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman welcoming 15 excited celebrities.

The impressive group of celebrities, featuring JB Gill, Tasha Ghouri, and Nick Knowles, plans to shine as they navigate the glitz and dance moves in pursuit of the highly sought-after Glitterball trophy. However, a playful incident occurred when Jamie Borthwick was jokingly accused of having an edge because he won during the last holiday season's competition. Tess Daly remarked, "Jamie, you experienced Strictly last Christmas," which prompted Wynne Evans to humorously chime in with a mock cough and call him a "cheat!"

Laughter echoed through the studio as Jamie tried to keep his composure amidst the playful teasing, while Tess worked to brush off the comment. Just minutes later, during the launch show, the fun continued when the cheeky former TOWIE star Pete Wicks made another lighthearted remark.
