Jamie Bamber will join the BBC's new series of Beyond Paradise in tonight's episode (March 3). He plays Archie Hughes, an ambitious businessman who has returned to Shipton Abbott and bumps into his ex-financé Martha Lloyd.

But 49-year-old Jamie's real love life couldn’t be more different than his character's, he has been married for 20 years and is a devoted father of three teenage daughters. The family have lived in Los Angeles, London, and are now believed to have settled in France.

The actor, originally from Hammersmith, London, began his career in 1998 playing Archie Kennedy in Hornblower, a series of TV movies. He is best known for his role in the BBC Two's Battlestar Galatica, playing Major Lee 'Apollo' Adama between 2004 and 2009.

More recently Jamie starred in ITV's Innocent as Sam Wright. He also appeared in 2022 horror film The Lair as Major Roy Finch.

Jamie is not shy about sharing his love for wife Kerry Norton stating that the pair are "soul mates" and have "everlasting love" for each other. Kerry, 50, is originally from Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex, and was a gymnast before training as an actress.

Who is Jamie Bamber married to?

Actor Jamie Bamber has been married to Kerry Norton for 20 years. The pair share three children together, Isla, 19, and twins Darcy and Ava, 18.

In a recent post about Kerry, Jamie wrote: "A golden birthday for my golden soul mate. Here's to fifty more you beautiful Berry, you xxx #everlastinglove #happyfiftieth"

Kerry is best known for her recurring role in Battlestar Galactica, now available to watch on iPlayer as Paramedic Layne Ishay, from 2005 to 2009. She appeared on Eastenders as Nurse Rosa for four episodes from 2004 to 2006.

She also starred as Maxie Purvis in Bad Girls, a British drama about a women's prison in 2001. You may also recognise Kerry from two stints on Casualty playing 'Sporty Spice' in 2001 and Judith Crompton in 2017.

Whilst starting out as a gymnast and actress in 1996, Kerry picked up a role as a gymnast in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The next year she also played a contortionist in five episodes of The Weird Al Show.

The actress and her husband appeared as themselves in the 2003 BBC mini-series The Human Mind - episode Making Friends. In the episode Kerry is seen giving birth to her first child Isla.

Who is Archie Hughes in Beyond Paradise?

Jamie Bamber plays businessman Archie Hughes in the Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise's series 1 episode 2. The character is Martha Lloyd’s ex-fiancé and is expected to feature throughout the series.

Archie returns to his fictional hometown of Shipton Abbott in Devonshire to set up life there. But after arranging to become business partners with his ex-lover, he’s sure to stir things up in the small town.

According to BBC One’s synopsis for this week’s episode vineyard owner Archie steps in to help Martha deal with a financial problem that Humphrey has landed her in. It states: “Help comes from an unlikely place: local vineyard owner Archie Hughes, who also happens to be Martha’s ridiculously handsome ex-fiancé, volunteers to become a partner in the business. This could be the answer to Martha's prayers, but how will Humphrey react?”

The second episode of BBC's Beyond Paradise will air on March 3 at 8pm.
