Ozzy Osbourne has spoken out about the shooting involving his ex-guitarist Jake E. Lee, describing it as “yet another pointless act of gun violence.”

On Tuesday, it was announced that Lee was shot several times in Las Vegas early that day. According to a statement from the guitarist's representative, "Lee is completely awake and recovering well in an intensive care unit at a hospital in Las Vegas. He is anticipated to make a full recovery."

Osbourne later spoke to TMZ, saying, "I haven't seen Jake E. Lee in 37 years, but that doesn’t lessen the shock of hearing about what happened to him today. It's just another tragic example of gun violence."

The singer, who brought Lee on board in the early 1980s, expressed, “I’m thinking of him and his lovely daughter, Jade. I really hope he’s doing alright.”

Osbourne has expressed his concerns about the widespread problem of gun violence and mass shootings in the United States. He mentioned this issue as one of the factors that led to his decision to relocate back to the U.K. in 2022.

"America has transformed significantly. It no longer resembles the United States as we knew it," Sharon Osbourne commented then. "There’s nothing united about it. It's a strange time to live here."

Ozzy expressed his frustration, saying, "Everything is absolutely outrageous over there. I’m tired of hearing about people getting killed every single day. Just think about how many have fallen victim to school shootings. And we can't forget that mass shooting in Vegas during that concert… It’s just insane," referring to the Route 91 Harvest shooting in 2017 that claimed 60 lives.

As of Wednesday morning, there have been no arrests related to the shooting in Lee. A spokesperson for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department mentioned to Rolling Stone that this is still an active investigation.
