Man Utd's Sancho seals loan reunion with Dortmund

Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho's most recent scoring for Manchester United occurred during a 2-1 triumph over Fulham in May 2023.

Jadon Sancho, a winger for Manchester United and England, has returned to his previous team Borussia Dortmund on a loan that lasts until the end of the 2023-24 season.

The individual who is 23 years old transferred to Old Trafford after striking a deal worth £73m with the German team Dortmund in July of the year 2021.

He hasn't participated in any United matches since the 26th of August due to a disagreement with coach Erik ten Hag. Additionally, he has been practicing separately from the rest of the team since September.

There is no provision in the loan agreement for purchasing.

Upon entering the dressing room today, Sancho expressed that it felt like he was returning to his roots.

I have extensive knowledge of the club, including its inner workings and operations. Additionally, I have maintained a strong relationship with the fans and have continued to communicate with the individuals in positions of authority.

"I'm excited to meet up with my fellow players, hit the field, enjoy playing soccer, plan and execute goals, net some scores, and contribute towards obtaining a spot in the Champions League."

Sancho has already arrived in Germany after finishing a medical check-up on Wednesday. He is predicted to participate in the team's training camp in Marbella, which takes place in the middle of the season.

The football club Dortmund has agreed to give a payment of 3.5 million euros (equal to £3 million in British Pounds) for a certain transaction and may also agree to pay up to 4 million euros (£3.4m) in extra fees depending on specific circumstances. The additional money is dependent on factors such as whether a particular player or team qualifies for the Champions League or how often they appear during games.

The agreement encompasses most of Sancho's pay, and if all additional payments are granted, it would exceed 100% of his earnings until the end of the current season.

Sancho played with the Bundesliga team for four seasons starting from 2017, and he managed to score 50 goals in 137 matches.

Despite making a big move to Old Trafford, he has faced difficulty in maintaining his performance and has only managed to net 12 goals in 82 games.

His connection with Ten Hag was damaged when he was not selected for the team to play against Arsenal in September. The Dutch coach claimed that the reason for this was his subpar performance during training.

Sancho denied the accusations and expressed on social media that he was being unfairly blamed, and subsequently dismissed any requests for an apology, which resulted in him being banished.

Sebastian Kehl, Dortmund's director of sport, expressed his anticipation for Jadon's return to the team in the near future, stating that Jadon is an exceptional player who sets himself apart.

After a short winter training camp in Marbella, Spain, Dortmund will be returning to the Bundesliga on January 13th to face Darmstadt. As things stand, they are currently ranked fifth in the league.
