Jacqueline Gold, the chief executive of Ann Summers, has passed away at 62 years old, according to her relatives.
The wealthy female entrepreneur, who died on Thursday night with her loved ones present, had battled breast cancer for seven years. Her sister praised her as a brave fighter.
The occurrence took place merely 60 days following the passing of her 86-year-old wealthy dad, David, who was a co-chairman of West Ham United.
A statement from the family expressed deep sorrow as they announced that the remarkable executive chair of Ann Summers, Jacqueline Gold CBE, had passed away on the previous evening. Her husband Dan, daughter Scarlett, sister Vanessa, and brother-in-law Nick were all present by her side.
Vanessa, the sister of Jacqueline, expressed that her dear sister had bravely fought against stage four breast cancer for a duration of seven years and had displayed immense courage throughout her journey of cancer, proving to be a true warrior.
In the New Year Honours of 2016, she was granted the title of CBE for her notable contributions in entrepreneurship, promoting women in the business world, and advancing social enterprise.
Ms. Gold gained recognition for leading the popular lingerie and sex toy retailer Ann Summers and expanding it into a prosperous brick-and-mortar business.
David and Ralph, the father and uncle of the woman, acquired the company back in 1972. The business had gone bankrupt and only had four stores that sold adult products.
The duo began changing the business by hiring Ms Gold for an internship in 1981.
She quickly established herself by introducing the Ann Summers party concept to enhance the brand's popularity.
