Jacqueline Gold CBE: Her Legacy and Association with West Ham United F.C.
The demise of Jacqueline Gold CBE has caused a profound sense of shock and sadness for everyone associated with West Ham United.
Jacqueline, the daughter of the late and much-cherished West Ham United Joint-Chairman David Gold, and wife of Director Dan Cunningham, peacefully passed away on Thursday evening. Her husband, daughter Scarlett, sister Vanessa, and brother-in-law Nick were by her side during her last moments.
Jacqueline, the creator of Ann Summers, is the Executive Chair. She transformed the company from an unfamiliar brand into a well-known name in UK high street retail. She is highly regarded for advocating for women in business and dedicating her efforts to enhancing women's working conditions.
She received a CBE in the New Year Honors in 2016 in recognition of her numerous accomplishments in the course of her 40-year career, particularly in entrepreneurship, women in business, and social enterprise.
Jacqueline passed away, which is very sad. This happened only two months after her father passed away. She was always there to support and encourage West Ham United since David Gold became Joint-Chairman in January 2010. Jacqueline had many friends at the Club and they all loved, respected and admired her. Her loss is heartbreaking.
West Ham United expresses its deepest sympathies and compassionate thoughts towards the Gold family during this incredibly heartbreaking and challenging period. We extend our condolences to Dan, Jacqueline’s husband, their daughter, Scarlett, Vanessa, her sister, and the entire Gold family.
