The female entrepreneur passed away last Thursday night following a seven-year fight against breast cancer.
Ms Gold is highly recognized for changing the company's trajectory from four small shops hidden in back alleys to a lucrative enterprise with stores spread throughout the United Kingdom.
In recognition of her contributions to entrepreneurship, promoting women in business, and advancing social enterprise, she was awarded a CBE in 2016.
The loved ones of Ms. Gold shared that they were heartbroken to confirm that their remarkable executive chairperson, Jacqueline Gold CBE, passed away the previous night. They further added that her demise was unspeakably tragic, and she was surrounded by her husband, daughter, sister, and brother-in-law. This news has been confirmed by Ann Summers.
She worked as an advocate for women in the business sector, and advocated for female entrepreneurs who aimed to improve the workplace conditions for women.
Vanessa, the CEO of Ann Summers, who is also Jacqueline's sibling, expressed that her sister fought against stage 4 breast cancer with incredible strength for seven years. Despite the challenges she faced, Jacqueline remained resilient throughout her cancer journey.
During her lifetime, she paved the way for others, had innovative ideas, and was an extraordinary individual. This news is even more difficult to accept because of it.
Ms. Gold is recognized for revamping the image of Ann Summers brand by making it more appealing and suitable for women.
She established a novel gathering service for females that resembled Tupperware parties, and it quickly became popular.
The rise in profits triggered the growth of the High Street outlets owned by the corporation. At present, the business boasts a total of 88 shops dispersed throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
