Jack Black cancels Tenacious D tour after Kyle Gass's comments about Donald Trump

Jack Black announced that he has decided to cancel the remaining dates of the Tenacious D world tour following a controversial statement made by his bandmate Kyle Gass regarding the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

The comedy band performed live in Sydney, Australia, last Sunday. During the show, Gass was given a cake for his 64th birthday and was asked to make a wish.

He seemed to respond by saying, "Make sure not to overlook Trump next time."

In a post on Instagram, Black expressed that he was completely caught off guard by the comment.

"I would never support hate speech or endorse political violence in any way," stated the comedian and actor.

He mentioned that he did not think it was the right time to keep going on the Tenacious D tour, and that the group's other creative projects are currently paused.

Black also mentioned that he appreciates the fans for standing by him and being understanding.

The disagreement had already caused the concert scheduled for Tuesday in Newcastle, New South Wales, to be delayed.

Gass said sorry for the remark on Instagram, admitting that it was a "serious mistake in judgment."

"I made a serious error during my performance in Sydney on Sunday night when I came up with a line on the spot that was completely inappropriate and potentially harmful. This was a major mistake on my part."

I do not support any type of violence towards anyone. The event that occurred was very sad, and I deeply regret my poor decision. I sincerely apologize to those who I have disappointed and feel sorry for any harm I have caused.

United Australia Senator Ralph Babet requested that the band be sent out of the country.

He said that the pair should "be kicked out of the country right away for publicly hoping that Donald Trump would be killed during their concert in Sydney".

"I strongly reject the promotion of political violence by Tenacious D in Sydney on Sunday," he stated firmly.

It is absolutely horrible, disgusting, and completely unacceptable to support or desire the killing of a President.

Trump was injured in the ear when a shooter attacked a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday.

The FBI has found out who the shooter was that aimed at Trump. His name is Thomas Matthew Crooks and he is 20 years old. He works in a kitchen in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania and is a member of the Republican party.

A sniper from the Secret Service took down Crooks with a fatal shot after he shot at the ex-president. One onlooker lost their life and two others were badly hurt in the incident.
