The actor from School of Rock expressed shock over the unexpected comments made by Kyle Gass during a performance, and mentioned that any upcoming projects they had planned together are now postponed.

The funny rock band was performing in Sydney, Australia, when Gass was surprised with a birthday cake and told to make a wish.

Gass caused a stir when he responded with the statement "make sure to catch Trump next time" following a shooting incident at a recent Donald Trump event that resulted in the former president sustaining an injury to his ear.

The Gass video spread quickly on social media.

I was caught off guard by what was said during the show on Sunday.

I would never support hateful language or advocate for violence in politics.

After thinking about it a lot, I don't think it's a good idea to keep going with the Tenacious D tour. I'm putting a pause on all future creative projects. I appreciate the fans for their support and understanding.

After Black made a statement, Gass issued an apology on Instagram.

The event was very sad, and I deeply regret my serious mistake in judgement.
