Reddit is currently experiencing technical difficulties, causing the site to be down. This problem seems to be significant and impacting users' ability to access the platform.
Guests were instead presented with a variety of error messages that indicated the site was experiencing technical difficulties.
People who went to the website on their computer were shown three different alerts that said there was an issue with the site.
"Server error," one message stated. "We have come across a problem. Please attempt again at a later time."
People who used the official app experienced the same error notifications.
The monitoring site Down Detector displayed a significant increase in service disruptions on Wednesday night. Issues were experienced in various locations globally.
Reddit's status page did not provide any immediate updates on the situation.
The service interruption occurred following a series of notable disruptions at critical websites and services. Reddit experienced difficulties approximately one month after a computer glitch at the cybersecurity company CrowdStrike caused computers worldwide to go offline.
