Iran has initiated a retaliation strike against Israel by using missiles and aerial drones, which had been expected to happen.

The Iranian military's most dominant division, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), claimed that the recent assault had a clear intention of hitting particular objectives.

More than 100 drones were reportedly launched, according to military sources in Israel.

The IDF has announced that they are on high alert and are closely monitoring all targets. The Prime Minister of Israel has assembled a war cabinet meeting.

Launching at approximately 8:00 pm Greenwich Mean Time on Saturday, it will take several hours for the drones to travel the distance of approximately 1,100 miles (1,800 kilometers) and reach Israel.

The airspace of Israel, Lebanon, and Iraq has been shut down, while Syria and Jordan have raised their air defenses.

Iran pledged to take revenge for the assault on their consulate in Syria that occurred on April 1st and resulted in the death of seven military officials, including a highly-ranked commander.

The attack was blamed on Israel, but they didn't admit or deny it.

The spokesperson of IDF, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari declared that Iran has carried out a direct offensive against Israel from Iranian territory. He also mentioned that IDF is keeping a watchful eye on the drones sent by Iran, which may harm Israel. This development is a grave and risky escalation.

Just before reports of Iran's drone launches, Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu mentioned that his nation's "protective systems" were in place.

We are prepared for any possibility, no matter if it requires defense or attack. Israel is a robust country, with the IDF and its citizens both formidable forces.

"We are grateful for the solidarity and alliance shown by the United States towards Israel, as well as the backing provided by other countries such as Britain and France."

Israel's foreign and defence ministers cautioned this week that if Iran initiated an attack on Israel, Israel would retaliate by launching an attack within Iran's borders.

Adrienne Watson, spokesperson for the US National Security Council, expressed that the President, Joe Biden, has made it evident that their unwavering support for Israel's safety still stands after receiving an update on the Iranian attack.

The citizens of Israel will have the support of the United States to safeguard themselves from the danger posed by Iran.

The leader of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, strongly criticized Iran's irresponsibility in their attack. He made a promise that the UK will always support and protect the safety of Israel and all the other countries in the same region.

The IRGC of Iran stated that they initiated the assault "as a response to the continuous offenses of the Zionist government (Israel). This includes their attack on the Iranian embassy consulate located in Damascus."
