Iran Air suspends flights to Europe following EU sanctions for missile transfers
Iran Air, the flag carrier of Iran, has halted all its flights to Europe following new sanctions from the European Union. This airline was the final Iranian operator serving routes to destinations like France and Germany. These airlines are alleged to have played a role in supplying military gear, such as drones and missile parts, to Russia. The European Union's sanctions are a key element of a larger effort to limit Iran's military assistance to Russia, particularly its supply of drones that have been deployed in assaults on Ukrainian urban areas. The only airline still offering direct flights to Iran is Flydubai, underscoring the tough situation many Iranians are in as they deal with narrowing travel choices.
