The IPL Auction is entering its last stage, as all 10 teams aim to finalize their rosters. The auction will speed up from this point on, taking into account how many player slots are still available and the budget each team has left.
During this stage, the 10 teams will provide a roster of the players still available, who will then be featured in the auction for the quick round of bidding. Players that haven't been selected will not be included in the bidding process.
Unexpectedly, Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur went unsold in the first round of bidding, despite having a starting price of Rs. 2 crore. Given his skills in both batting and bowling, he could prove to be a valuable option in the subsequent rounds of bidding.
New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips also went unnoticed in the early bidding process. He is a skilled off-spinner and a reliable lower-order batsman. Moreover, Phillips is currently recognized as one of the top fielders in international cricket.
A total of 143 players have been selected for the Accelerated Auction, which will be succeeded by a recall round. It's anticipated that there will be many players who do not get sold during the accelerated auction. #IPLAuction @sportstarweb @TheHinduSports
Mayank Agarwal, a seasoned Indian batsman, is another player who might improve his prospects during the fast-paced portion of the auction. At 33 years old, he brings a wealth of experience in the IPL and can be a valuable asset at the top of the batting lineup.
Another Indian opener who didn't make the cut is Devdutt Padikkal. The left-handed batsman, who is currently part of the Indian Test squad, might be a good choice to fill the opening position.
Indian fast bowler Kartik Tyagi may also be back in the auction, as teams are searching for affordable bowling talent to finalize their rosters. The 24-year-old has played for the Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in earlier seasons of the IPL.
