The act of voting marks the initial phase of a journey that will probably result in the ex-president being selected as the Republican nominee for the upcoming November election.

Many people expected Mr. Trump to win the state in an impressive manner and everyone was interested in knowing the difference between his victory and the second-place finisher.

The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, and the former United Nations ambassador, Nikki Haley, were both aiming for a decent outcome to establish themselves as a believable contender.

According to NBC News, Mr. DeSantis narrowly beat his opponent, but both fell far behind the former president who received over 50% of the total votes.

Beforehand, Mr. Trump encouraged his supporters to endure extremely cold temperatures as low as -30C in order to cast their vote. He made a humorous comment, stating that even if they were to vote and then pass away, it would be worth it.

As he realized he was winning, he spoke and expressed his gratitude towards those who supported him. He also explained his future plans in case he becomes the President again.

Talking about well-known topics, he promised to put an end to the "infiltration" of immigrants at the border with Mexico and to increase oil exploitation through the famous phrase "drill baby drill".

Additionally, he guaranteed quick resolutions for the Israel-Hamas and Ukraine conflicts, while reiterating his inaccurate statements about the previous election being rigged.

On Monday, the voting process for Republican party members started at various locations in Iowa including schools, community centres, and other venues, from 7pm local time.

People present at the gathering heard speeches delivered on behalf of all the candidates before they made their decision.

NBC News predicts that Mr. Trump will gain 20 delegates in Iowa, while Ron DeSantis is expected to receive eight and Nikki Haley is projected to receive seven.

The newest prediction indicates that he is currently expected to receive the majority of the votes with 51%, with the governor of Florida following closely behind at 21% and Ms. Haley at 19%.

Assuming it's confirmed, the outcome will be by far the most significant gap in winning votes that the state has ever seen.

If Mr. Trump wins by a large margin, it would further support his assertion that he's the lone contender who can actually pose a significant threat to President Biden.

The leader shared on a social media platform that the person who held their position before is currently the most likely contender on the opposing team.

According to Mr. Biden, the upcoming election will be a battle between regular citizens like you and me versus the far-right Republicans who strongly support the MAGA movement. This has been the case in the past and will continue to be the case moving forward.

The destruction caused by Trump is the level of impact he intended to achieve.

A few days ago, I was informed by Donald Trump's team that winning in Iowa would be enough, even if it was a small victory over his competitors.

This evening has been exceptional. He has conquered almost all the counties in the state, and it can hardly be called a close competition.

Trump emerged victorious in the elections by garnering a vote share of more than 50%, leaving behind his closest competitor, Ron DeSantis with a margin of nearly 30 points.

Mentally speaking, achieving more than half of the votes is what Trump referred to as a "blow out," and it is a significant event in the history of caucuses.

In his victory speech, he exuded a strong sense of optimism and energy, indicating that he was shifting his focus from the primary race to the upcoming election. This was evident both in the style and substance of his speech.

He expressed gratitude towards his spouse, offspring, and even his competitors DeSantis and Haley. He appreciated them for "having a pleasant experience together out yonder".

It seemed like a gesture of recognition, and the fact that there were no insulting remarks regarding the other Republican contenders or their pursuits gave the impression that he no longer regards them as serious opponents in this competition.

Although he came in second place, Ron DeSantis spoke positively to his supporters, stating that their campaign had achieved recognition and backing from Iowa Republicans.

He made a pledge to bring back reason and common sense, and to revive the important values of freedom and liberty that were set in place by the early leaders of America.

He stated that he would accomplish the task for the nation as the next president of the United States.

Nikki Haley spoke to her followers and stated that the competition was currently between her and Mr. Trump, disregarding her position in third place.

She expressed that by reviewing our progress in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and other states, she can confidently state that Iowa has made the Republican primary a competition between only two individuals.

Haley, who is aged 51, expressed that the citizens are not desiring to witness a repetition of the previous election. She claimed to be the final and optimum opportunity of preventing the undesirable Trump-Biden dilemma.

At the same time, Vivek Ramaswamy - who had a low chance of being selected as a candidate - dropped out of the race due to disappointing results and has chosen to support Mr. Trump instead.

In various states, caucuses and primaries are organized to establish the number of delegates each candidate has for the party's national convention, which takes place in July and where the final winner is selected.

On January 23rd, the Republican vote will take place in New Hampshire.

Despite facing four criminal cases and being blocked from running in some states, Donald Trump has still managed to win in Iowa according to expectations.
