Intergalactic: Gameplay And Story Insights
Intergalactic: The Rebel Seer. Naughty Dog
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet takes place many thousands of years in the future. In this exciting new sci-fi experience from Naughty Dog, you step into the role of Jordan A Mun, a bounty hunter who finds himself marooned on Sempiria—a planet from which no one has managed to escape for more than 600 years.
While we don't have extensive details about how the game plays, we do get a brief glimpse of Jordan using an energy sword to battle a sinister robotic foe. The combat seems reminiscent of Souls-like games, although it appears to have a quicker pace. However, we’ll have to wait and see how it actually turns out.
On the official Naughty Dog website, Neil Druckmann mentions that the studio has been developing this exciting new journey since 2020. It's definitely been a wait worth having.
Regarding the storyline of the game, Druckmann shares: "Our latest main character, Jordan A. Mun, is a risky bounty hunter who finds himself stuck on Sempiria – a remote planet that lost all contact with the rest of the universe centuries ago."
"Honestly, anyone who's traveled there in search of its enigmatic history has disappeared without a trace. Jordan will need to rely on all her abilities and cleverness if she wants to be the first individual to escape its pull in more than six centuries."
Anticipate a game that stays true to Naughty Dog's legacy of crafting an emotionally rich, character-focused adventure.
"This will feature the most immersive gameplay in Naughty Dog's history, building on the lessons we've learned from our past franchises and elevating them to new heights like never before."
If you’ve seen the trailer, you might have recognized that the character Jordan is portrayed by Tati Gabrielle, known for her role in the Uncharted movie and her upcoming appearance in season 2 of The Last of Us.
It seems likely that Kumail Nanjiani is also featured in the trailer, along with the bounty.
Lastly, it's important to note that the soundtrack for the game is being created by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, so you can anticipate a lot of synth-driven sci-fi music reminiscent of the '80s.
