However, the significance of the title goes deeper; the competition between the teams in the Derby d'Italia makes it a truly momentous event. For many years, it has been one of the standout matches in Italian football.

Many well-known players have donned the jerseys of both Inter and Juventus.

And this still holds true today.

Inter's President Marotta expressed his admiration for the ambiance at the San Siro before tonight's game. "It's truly remarkable," he remarked.

"The president of the Nerazzurri stated that this game holds significant global significance."

"I believe it can serve as a great promotion for the sport of football," Marotta stated.

The Inter President stated, "It's obvious that this is the Derby of Italy. Juventus is a storied opponent that we need to approach with both respect and determination."

"That's the attitude we need to embody," Marotta stated.

Marotta Takes A Shot At Motta And Juventus

After Juventus coach Thiago Motta played down discussions about the championship and named Inter and even Napoli as the top contenders for the title over Juventus, Marotta had a different perspective.

“The heads of Juventus, AC Milan, Inter, and, of course, Napoli and Roma, all have a responsibility to come out on top,” stated the President of Inter.

"And it's evident that when someone comes out on top, others have to fall behind."

"Juve isn’t Borgorosso," Marotta stated, alluding to a 1970 movie that tells the story of a lesser-known team's struggles and triumphs.

"They need to make the most of every competition."

"They may not be the top pick, but they are definitely among the leading contenders," Marotta commented on the Bianconeri.

Marotta also shared his thoughts on the injuries that Inter has been facing.

"This season has an unprecedented amount of scheduling congestion," stated the President of Inter.

"The last season wrapped up in mid-July," he mentioned, considering the international competitions.

“Marotta mentioned that Lautaro joined the team for preseason shortly before the game against Genoa.”

"It’s tough to keep up with all the matches since they happen so frequently," he lamented.

"We need to address this issue; during the recent international break, there were around one hundred injuries, which is an unusually high figure."

"These days, we play at a quicker pace," Marotta observed. "There’s a greater focus on pressing the opponent. It requires an incredible amount of energy."
