David Beckham, who is in charge of Inter Miami, unfortunately had to watch his team lose their recent game in front of his kids. It was surely a difficult moment to experience.

Paul Scholes, a retired midfielder from Manchester United and England, was present to witness his team's defeat of 2-1 against Monterrey in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup tournament held on Wednesday evening.

Watching from a distance, a well-dressed Beckham - sporting his usual blue suit for similar events - was with three out of his four kids from his marriage to ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham.

Present to see the loss were Beckham's children Brooklyn, who is 25 years old, Cruz who is 19 years old, and Harper who is 12 years old. They were seated next to their father as they watched the team give up their lead of one goal.

Inter Miami didn't have Lionel Messi playing. However, during the game on Wednesday night at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, they lost a player and ultimately lost the game by one goal.

Club executive David Beckham had to endure a difficult situation while attending Inter Miami's recent game, as he had to watch his team lose in the company of his children Brooklyn, Cruz, and Harper. This only added to the disappointment of the defeat.

Paul Scholes, a former midfielder for Manchester United and England, was present at the Concacaf Champions Cup first leg match on Wednesday evening. Unfortunately, his team lost 2-1 at home to Monterrey.

Monterrey managed to secure a 2-1 lead in the total-goal series, thanks to Jorge Rodriguez's winning goal in the 89th minute. The second and final leg of the series will take place on April 10 in Guadalupe, Mexico.

Messi was not able to play in the game because of an injury to his hamstring muscle that has kept him from playing since March.

Miami managed to get a lead of 1-0, with Tomas Aviles scoring a goal in the 19th minute, even without their star player.

Despite David Ruiz being sent off with a second yellow card in the 65th minute, the Herons managed to maintain their leading position.

Four minutes after, Maximiliano Meza scored a goal for Monterrey, which made them tie the game. Later on, they took the lead in the last moments of the game.

The game's winning goal was created by a mistake made by Inter Miami near the penalty box.

Meza passed the ball to Rodriguez, who then quickly positioned the ball with his initial touch, and finally drove a powerful 20-yard shot with his right foot into the furthest upper corner of the goal.

Messi has been absent for his fourth consecutive match due to a hamstring injury in his right leg. He hasn't played since March 13, and he also missed Argentina's displays against El Salvador and Costa Rica last month.

Inter Miami played their quarterfinal match in the CONCACAF Champions Cup without the renowned Lionel Messi. Sadly, they also lost a player and ultimately were down a goal at the end of the first leg held in Fort Lauderdale.

Beckham was unable to do anything to prevent the team from suffering a disheartening loss.

We do not know for sure when the 36-year-old Messi will make a comeback. The quarterfinal between Inter Miami and Monterrey is set to happen in Mexico on April 10. Additionally, Inter Miami also has an MLS game against Colorado on Saturday.

"Each day he is improving. It would have been too dangerous for him to play today," explained Inter Miami coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino with the help of a translator following the game.

He stated that Messi's performance will be determined on a game-by-game basis.
