Academy Update: February 2024 Players of the Month
After the Inter Miami CF Academy presented by Baptist Health completed another month of their season, they have selected a group of players who have performed exceptionally well and have earned the Players of the Month recognition for February.
The Player of the Month for February in the U-13 group of our Academy goes to Alejandro Lopez. He's got the nod in recognition of his outstanding performance.
Since August, Alejandro has been continuously improving throughout the 2023-2024 season. This month of February brought the culmination of his progress, as he delivered impressive performances in games across the MLS Next league, exhibition games, and most significantly, the Weston Cup where his team emerged victorious. According to Gibran Tevar, the head coach of the U-13 Academy team, Alejandro's prowess cannot be quantified by assists and goals alone but by his consistent play, competitive attitude, and determination to give his all on the pitch.
Coming up next, we have Sean Gormley, a U-15 player who has been chosen as the Player of the Month for our age groups between the lower and upper levels.
In recent months, Sean has shown an unwavering dedication to better himself both during games and in other areas. He has made noteworthy progress in his growth and has proven himself to be a role model for the team," declared Pedro Cavalcanti, the head coach of the under-15 squad.
Finally, Benjamin Donato from our U-19 squad was chosen as the Academy's Player of the Month for the older age categories.
Giuseppe DePalo, the head coach of the U-19 team, expressed his admiration for Benjamin's remarkable gameplay in the beginning of the year. He has proven his talent and skills not only in his club but also in his national team. DePalo is enthusiastic about what Benjamin can bring to the team's success in the rest of the season.
