Independence Day: College Sports Tyrannies I’m Glad To Be Free From
Happy Fourth of July, Bulldog supporters!
Today is a significant day for everyone, as we honor the importance of living with freedom and the pursuit of joy. Happiness comes in different shapes and sizes, but what makes America great is that we are all able to pursue it in our own way, within certain limits. These limits may involve government agencies like the ATF or IRS, as well as the rules and regulations of places like national parks or fast food restaurants like Chick-Fil-A.
Your joy and my joy may not align, but despite the divisions in our nation, there are indisputable truths that we all can acknowledge.
One thing we can all probably agree on is that there are certain things we are happy to be rid of. To celebrate this occasion, I have put together a list of things that I am grateful to be free from. Such as...
1) Tom Crean really got under my skin. On the contrary, Mike White doesn't bother me at all.
2) I don't trust Billy Napier to create a successful football team in the SEC. If you look at Florida's 2024 schedule, it's easy to see why. It's possible that Florida fans will no longer support Napier within the next six months.
3) Wondering about Carson Beck? Remember when people used to say Kirby Smart couldn't coach top quarterbacks? Well, it seems like Heisman candidate Stetson Bennett and leading Heisman contender Carson Beck have proven them wrong.
The bathrooms at Sanford Stadium are really old. I want to thank the brave people who survived the cold winter at Valley Forge. It's not fair that they had better bathroom facilities for years compared to UGA season ticket holders.
5) The likelihood of Tennessee winning a college football national championship is slim. The last time they won was around 2000, but who's keeping track? It seems like they have been struggling for the past 24 years, wearing their bright orange uniforms.
6) Nick Saban is a great leader and coach, but I am excited to see what Kalen DeBoer can bring to the table.
7) I really didn't find the jokes from 1980 funny at all. However, the jokes from 1990, 1998, and 2008 were just hysterical! Don't miss out on those.
Let liberty resound. And...
