I’m a Celebrity has sent home its first celebrity contestant from the 2024 season.
After nearly two weeks of seeing celebrities like Reverend Richard Coles and Coleen Rooney in the jungle, the audience was given the chance to vote and rescue their preferred campmate from the first round of eliminations.
During the live broadcast on Friday night (29 November), hosts Ant and Dec announced that the first celebrity to exit the show was journalist and Loose Women personality Jane Moore.
In response to the announcement, she expressed, "Let's just say that effort doesn't seem to be recognized."
Once she departed from camp and encountered Ant and Dec, she embraced them in a "damp hug," describing her time there as both "strange and enchanting." She noted, "While many claim it's the highlight of their lives, I wouldn't go that far considering all the rain!"
The hosts also discussed with her the "main disagreement" that arose during her time on the ITV show. In this disagreement, Moore claims that former boxer Barry McGuigan showed ageism and sexism by assigning her the task of doing the dishes in the camp.
At that moment, she expressed her discontent, saying, "It feels just like the 1950s!" Later, she clarified that she was simply trying to tease him.
"To be honest, I wasn't happy about that," she expressed to the hosts during her exit interview.
Moore expressed her hope that under-the-radar performers such as Melvin Odoom and Coleen Rooney would take home the trophy. “They may not be flashy, but they’re dependable.”
As Moore exited the show, her daughter ran up to her, embracing her with a hug and a kiss while exclaiming, “You smell great!”
In Friday night's episode, Coleen Rooney shared her experiences with miscarriages and discussed how they affected her husband, Wayne, who is a former Manchester United striker.
Moore joined her fellow Loose Women hosts Janet Street-Porter, Frankie Bridge, and Charlene White by participating in the show. Since her debut on the ITV panel in 1999, Moore mentioned that she anticipated her contribution would be to provide support to others.
I’m a Celebrity will be back tomorrow evening at 9 PM on ITV.
