I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! 2024 winner revealed
The champion of the 2024 season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! has been announced.
In the final episode on Sunday, Danny Jones, the lead singer of McFly, emerged as the winner after a public vote. Coleen Rooney took the second spot, while Reverend Richard Coles secured third place.
Once again, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly took the stage as hosts, with the filming taking place in New South Wales, Australia.
This year's selection turned out to be less contentious than in the past, as ITV announced that there would be no politicians involved.
Jones, 38, shed tears of joy as he was announced the winner for 2024, expressing that the experience was "incredible" and "like a dream."
He is a member of the pop-rock group McFly, which came together in the early 2000s and achieved success with tracks like "Five Colours in Her Hair" and "All About You."
Rooney made news in 2022 when the infamous Wagatha Christie case went to trial.
Before the winner was announced, Rooney expressed her feelings, saying, "Just reaching the final fills me with pride. I'm proud to be a mother, a wife, and a daughter."
Jones said, "It's incredible! I never saw this coming."
In the finale, the three contestants faced their last Bushtucker challenge, aiming to earn a three-course dinner for their final evening in the campsite.
In his farewell interview, Coles mentioned, "It turned out to be much more challenging than I had anticipated, but that made it all the better."
"The highlight was definitely the company; we all had an amazing time together."
The lineup also included professional dancer Oti Mabuse, actor Alan Halsall from Coronation Street, former pro boxer Barry McGuigan, and TikTok star GK Barry.
Love Island contestant Maura Higgins and Coles made their entrance at the camp as this year's latecomers.
Jane Moore, a panelist on Loose Women, was the first to exit the show, describing it as a "strange and enchanting experience."
She chose not to describe it as a good experience, mentioning, "I've never been so drenched all the time," in reference to the downpours that hit the camp on multiple days.
Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough was the next to go, having completed seven challenges throughout his time on the program.
He became a controversial person in the group when other celebrities accused him of not contributing enough to the tasks.
In a surprising turn of events, Tulisa Constastavlos, the N-Dubz singer and former X Factor judge, was the latest celebrity to exit the show.
She was absent from ITV's spin-off program, I'm A Celebrity... Unpacked, and subsequently removed all posts related to the show from her Instagram account.
After that, Constostavlos shared a video where she expressed that she's been feeling "overwhelmed" since her time in the jungle and is now taking a pause to prioritize her mental well-being.
The next guest to speak was radio and TV host Melvin Odoom, who mentioned to the hosts, Ant and Dec, that he was "prepared to leave" and talked about the new bonds he had formed with Oti Mabuse, Danny Jones, and Barry McGuigan.
After a Wednesday night without any celebrities exiting, it resulted in two of them being eliminated on Thursday night.
In a surprising turn of events, Barry McGuigan and Maura Higgins exited the camp, catching viewers off guard.
Higgins expressed that she was "very pleased" to be departing.
"It's my moment." I had this strong intuition, and I trust my instincts completely!" she shared with Ant and Dec during her farewell conversation.
McGuigan, on the other hand, felt disappointed about leaving because it meant he would miss out on the last challenge, the notorious Celebrity Cyclone.
This season of I'm A Celebrity has been relatively calm, with the contestants getting along nicely and collaborating effectively during the tasks.
In another part of the show, the theme of unexpected friendships carried on, as social media influencer and podcaster GK Barry engaged in several heartfelt conversations with Reverend Richard Coles.
"I’m not sure what to call the close friendship between a 62-year-old gay man and a 25-year-old lesbian, but whatever it is, we’re definitely experiencing it," Coles joked while chatting in the Bush Telegraph.
GK Barry and Coles teamed up with well-known figures such as George Takei from Star Trek, Joe Swash from EastEnders, X Factor's Jake Quickenden, and former politician Edwina Currie in the show's unexpected pairing lineup.
