Idris Elba's wife Sabrina reveals what she regrets from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding -...

Idris Elba

Sabrina Dhowre Elba shared what she regrets not doing during the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, which she attended with her husband, actor Idris Elba.

The 35-year-old revealed that she feels remorse about wearing an all-Gucci outfit to Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018, acknowledging that it was quite "over the top."

Sabrina expressed her disbelief at being invited to such a prestigious event, especially since she was there with her husband, whom she had only met a year earlier.

She nearly committed the biggest mistake for wedding guests by donning a white dress, but she managed to conceal it with a black knee-length coat featuring Gucci's signature green and red accents.

The Canadian model, who tied the knot with Elba in 2019, accessorized her outfit with coordinating Mary Jane Gucci heels, a white shoulder bag, and a navy hat.

Sabrina Dhowre Elba, the wife of actor Idris Elba, has shared that she feels regret about the Gucci outfit she chose for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding back in 2018.

During her conversation with host Emily Dean on the podcast Walking the Dog, Sabrina shared that it was one of the initial occasions when a designer brand proposed to style her. However, she noted that if given the chance now, she wouldn't opt for the same outfit.

"It was among the first occasions when a major brand dressed me, and it was Gucci at that. I was thrilled about the opportunity and ready to accept anything they offered. I thought to myself, 'Oh my goodness, thank you!' and I truly felt a sense of excitement," she expressed.

Reflecting on it now, I might have chosen a different outfit. It was a bit flashy, perhaps.

Nonetheless, the podcaster didn't agree with Sabrina's fashion choice and referred to her as a 'style queen'.

"I believe you introduced a contemporary vibe to it, shaking things up and questioning the established story," Dean mentioned.

Sabrina mentioned that it seemed unbelievable to her that she was attending such a high-profile event as a guest, especially since it was only a year after she and her now-husband first met.

You're probably thinking, "It's a wedding; these are my friends, and I want to dress how I feel."

Idris asked Sabrina to accompany him as his date to the royal wedding the following year after they began their relationship.

The 52-year-old actor got to know Harry thanks to his father, King Charles III. They spent some time together on a few occasions before receiving an invitation to the wedding.

He mentioned on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that his father's organization, the Prince's Trust, supported him when he was a young actor. As a result, he collaborates with them frequently, along with Harry and William. He also noted that Harry attended a few events where he was the DJ.

Harry attended a few of the parties where I was DJing, and he asked me, "What do you have planned for [May 19]?"

"I kept quiet, and then he suddenly asked if I would be the DJ at his wedding. I couldn't help but wonder if he was kidding."

Sabrina expressed her amazement at being invited to one of the most significant events of the year.

Among the other attendees were the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney, and David and Victoria Beckham.

She mentioned that she could feel her phone buzzing with a stream of enthusiastic texts from friends who had spotted her on television as she arrived at the event.

"Wow, I honestly didn't expect to be at that wedding. I kept reassuring myself that it wouldn't be anything too significant," she shared.

After that, I received about a hundred text messages saying, "Wow, we can see you on TV!"

"Everyone witnessed that moment, and it’s one of those experiences you can recall vividly, thinking about where you were at the time. I remember asking myself, 'What am I doing in this situation?' but ultimately, I had an amazing time; the people around me were truly wonderful."

The admission follows Sabrina being photographed at the opening of Vuori's main store on Regent Street in London this past Wednesday.
