Holly Willoughby: Man arrested over alleged plot to kidnap This Morning presenter
Police have taken into custody a 36-year-old male suspect in connection with a supposed scheme to abduct popular television host Holly Willoughby.
According to reports, the host of This Morning, who is 42 years of age, cancelled her appearance on Thursday and it is said that the police are looking after her residence in London.
The Essex Police reported that they apprehended a presumed criminal on Wednesday. This person is suspected of being involved in a plot to abduct someone and has been taken into custody.
The police announced that a male person who is 36 years old and residing in Harlow has been taken into custody under the suspicion of having a plan of abduction in alignment with a current inquiry.
He was taken into custody on Wednesday, October 4th and is presently being held.
The star isn't familiar with the suspect, according to The Sun newspaper's report.
The newspaper reported that the presenter withdrew from her scheduled appearance on the show after the Morning executives were informed of a supposed scheme on Thursday morning.
ITV is offering continuous protection and assistance to Willoughby in collaboration with the authorities.
Lorraine Kelly, who works with Willoughby on ITV, talked about the story on her show, Lorraine, and said that it made her very sad.
She expressed: "Naturally, we are extending our love and well-wishes to Holly. It is a dreadful experience for her and her loved ones to have to endure."
