On the same day, a fundraiser was organized by US President Biden's campaign in London, which was in competition with another one. This was hosted by Anna Wintour, the editor of the United States Vogue magazine, who was originally from Britain. It has been rumored that tickets were being sold at a rate of $1,000 per person.

Donald Trump Jr departs from the fundraising event.

Wintour, who publicly supported Biden during his presidential campaign last year, additionally organized a fundraising event for him in March while Paris Fashion Week was taking place.

The invitations for the charity event offered different levels of donations such as 'host committee' which was set at £78,000 per couple and the dinner which was priced at £39,000. Those who only wanted to attend the event had to pay $10,000 (£8000). A photo opportunity could be purchased for $25,000 (£19,555).

According to the BBC, Greg Swenson, the head of Republican Overseas, stated that the charges for tickets ranged from $10,000 to $100,000.

He characterized it as a grand event but emphasized that the Republicans were the ones representing the ordinary citizens. Swenson highlighted that similar events from the opposing Democratic party had cost more, specifically mentioning Biden's event in New York in March which had a price tag of $500,000 per ticket.
