Former Neighbours actress Holly Valance backs Lee Anderson and Reform UK

The ex-Neighbours actress Holly Valance has expressed her support for the Reform UK party and their alliance with Lee Anderson, a former member of the Conservative Party who leans towards the right wing.

Last month, the renowned actress and vocalist from Australia, who is 40 years of age and has become famous for playing the character Felicity "Flick" Scully in a popular soap opera, was present at the inauguration of the People's Conservatism movement, which was hosted by the former Prime Minister, Liz Truss, in London.

In July 2022, Nick Candy, a property tycoon, accompanied his wife to Boris and Carrie Johnson's wedding in the Cotswolds.

During an interview with GB News' Chopper's Political Podcast, Valance stated that although they previously voted for the Conservative party, they plan to vote for Reform (UK) in the upcoming election.

When inquired about Mr. Anderson's decision to join Richard Tice and Nigel Farage's group, she responded by saying: "Absolutely. I endorse anyone who remains steadfast in their beliefs and doesn't betray them by changing their stance frequently or inconsistently."

I have admiration for individuals who remain consistent in their beliefs, even if they may seem extreme. If someone constantly reaffirms their convictions over an extended period of time, I believe they deserve respect.

While I may not share your viewpoint, I understand that it is preferable to constantly changing opinions without any commitment. I believe that individuals are tired of such indecisiveness.

Mr. Anderson, who used to be a deputy chairman of the Conservative party and was a member of parliament for Ashfield, is now an independent politician. He made a comment suggesting that Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London who is part of the Labour party, is being influenced by Islamist extremists.

Valance expressed that Lee has changed his political allegiance from Labour to Conservatives and now to Reform. Valance finds this situation strange because a similar situation occurred in Canada in 1993 where the Reform party separated itself from the Tories, causing their destruction. This could potentially happen in the current situation as well.

I don't really believe that a Reform government is inevitable.

Valance has expressed her desire for Jacob Rees-Mogg, a Tory MP and former House of Commons leader, to become the Prime Minister in the past.

When questioned about Mr. Rees-Mogg's stance on abortion by ex-Telegraph reporter Christopher "Chopper" Hope, she expressed that it is logical to have doubts about it. Furthermore, she is against the concept of late-term abortion, as she finds it incredibly disturbing.

Valance used to identify herself as a person with left-leaning political views during her younger years. However, as she has matured and gained more knowledge and experience, her viewpoints have shifted and she no longer holds those same beliefs.

Valance clarified that when asked about Mr. Candy's reported support for the Labour Party in the upcoming general election, stating that it was simply a misunderstanding due to the way he phrased his statement on a podcast. According to Valance, Candy had actually said, "It's time for a change; Labour is going to be successful."

The decision to vote for Labour did not come easily or automatically for me.

She also mentioned that she expected him to support the Conservative Party.

Reform UK has been quite vocal on topics such as immigration and achieving net zero. Mr Farage holds the title of honorary president in the party, while Mr Tice serves as the leader.
