Helen's last episode was just as thrilling as her five decades on the soap opera. The Christmas Day storyline featured an engagement, a pregnancy, an arrest, several fights, and plenty of tears.
As the episode prepares for a heartfelt Christmas storyline, Gail finds herself eerily serenaded by the spirit of her former violent accomplice, Richard Hillman (played by Brian Capron).
The iconic actress Helen Worth has officially said goodbye to the streets of Weatherfield after portraying the character of Gail for five decades.
Gail appeared to be completely smitten as she shared a kiss with her husband during their wedding ceremony.
On Christmas morning, Gail woke up in a state of distress, having been tormented by her infamous adversary. This led to a confrontation about her past, and she was left shouting, "I'm not that person anymore!"
Feeling inspired, Gail rushed out to her partner Jesse and admitted that she realized she needed a groom, and that they were moving forward with the wedding plans again.
He affectionately inquired if she was free at 2 PM, since they had both agreed that their special day was on again.
Gail's mother, Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls), tried to make amends at the last moment by knocking on Gail's door. However, her granddaughter Tina quickly dashed her hopeful gesture, informing her that she wasn't welcome.
Even so, she arrived at the venue ahead of the major celebration to offer her best wishes. Gail, however, felt deeply upset that she had not backed her choice to move abroad and begin a new chapter in her life.
With their relationship hanging by a thread, Audrey was granted another opportunity to see if they could endure the challenges and strengthen their family connection.
However, things took another unexpected turn when Nick's estranged wife, Leanne Battersby, showed up at the wedding with the police. She accused him and his partner Toyah, who happens to be her sister, of committing fraud.
When Nick was informed that he was being taken to the station, he shot a look of contempt at Leanne, feeling bitter about being pulled away from his mother’s special day.
Although there were rumors that the holiday episode would result in her character's demise due to ongoing heart issues, Gail actually left the beloved series by relocating to Jesse's villa overseas.
Although the hour didn't end with her death, the events of Christmas Day included an engagement, a pregnancy announcement, an arrest, several altercations, and plenty of tears.
David brings an element of excitement to Gail's special occasion.
At the station, Nick faced allegations of purchasing almost £400 worth of lingerie, along with a variety of high-priced candles and other luxury items. He was told that these purchases had all been covered by TLH Holdings.
He insisted that neither he nor Toyah had any knowledge of the account, maintaining his innocence. He pleaded for his release so he could attend his mother’s wedding.
In a throwback moment, we see Jesse expressing his love for Gail, saying that she makes him the happiest man alive. Nick, on the other hand, seems relieved as his Christmas wish comes true.
Gail described it as the "first day of their new life," and she looked incredibly happy as she made a heartfelt promise to Jesse, saying that she would love him for the rest of her life.
However, it wasn't long before Leanne barged into the party and confronted Toyah. She claimed that Toyah was always the right choice for him, adding that she was simply occupying the space in his life.
She refused to leave her own restaurant, trading barbs about their intimate lives and Leanne's son. The angry ex then shoved Toyah, threatening to "knock her teeth out."
After Leanne claimed that Toyah had confined her son in a car and crashed into a wall, Toyah retaliated by hitting Leanne in the face, which sparked a brawl between them. This confrontation resulted in a police officer, Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), being attacked, and the wedding decorations were ruined in the chaos.
Craig escorted the two women to the police station to face charges of assaulting an officer, while the celebrations began with speeches and a home video from Platt’s children.
Gail has been married seven times during her time on the Cobbles.
As the episode created a backdrop for a heartfelt Christmas story, Gail found herself unnervingly entertained by the haunting presence of her former deadly associate, Richard Hillman (portrayed by Brian Capron).
On Christmas morning, Gail woke up in a panic, shouting that she was "no longer that person." The unsettling presence of the infamous villain and the heated discussion about her past had left her feeling deeply upset.

Although David (Thomas Ormson), the youngest son, was meant to be at the event honoring his mother, he was actually grappling with the pain of his wife's death. He stepped outside to have a few whiskeys and confronted Adam Barlow (Sam Robson), accusing him of having an affair with his wife, Shona (Julia Goulding).
Frustrated with the direction of their talk, Adam forcefully shoved David onto the roof and bluntly told him that he 'wasn't able to make Shona happy.'
In a sudden burst of anger, David shoved him down the stairs, leading to Adam tumbling and striking his head against the cobblestones, leaving him appearing motionless.
When the ambulance showed up, Adam gradually started to come to, allowing David and Shona to continue their argument in the street.
David confessed that he was aware of Debbie's comments and accused her of having an affair during her time at the hotel that evening.
Overwhelmed by guilt, Shona confessed her infidelity: "Okay, I did hook up with someone, but it wasn’t Adam, I promise on Lily’s life."
Heartbroken, the couple moved their argument inside the house, where she admitted to feeling ashamed but believed their marriage was over and felt uncertain about how to handle it.
David and Adam had a heated discussion following Gail's important event.
The confrontation ended with Adam lying on the ground, smeared in blood.
Their discussion was cut short when Gail, the bride, returned home to see her youngest son. With tears in her eyes, she gently reminded him to show kindness, saying that although he tends to speak his mind, he has a caring heart.
He quickly leveraged his 'big mouth' when he used his best man speech to make a jab at his wife.
He shared with everyone present that, although Gail is someone who believes in staying positive and offering people another opportunity, he does not share the same view.
David shared the most touching memories of his mother, leaving everyone in tears as he expressed how different the neighborhood will feel without her presence.
David faced even more turmoil when Adam's CT scan returned with no issues. He informed Tina that he intended to report the matter to the police and file charges.
At the same time, Daniel Osbourne (played by Rob Mallard) confronted Bethany Platt (portrayed by Lucy Fallon), Gail's granddaughter. She was attempting to end their relationship and claimed that he no longer had feelings for her.
Daisy Midgeley (played by Charlotte Jordan), whom he had recently spent the night with after yet another fight, was lurking just around the corner.
However, when Daniel presented a diamond wedding ring, Bethany accepted it with tears in her eyes. Meanwhile, Daisy felt heartbroken and silently turned to leave, even though she had been moving on with Kit Green.
Towards the end of the episode, Daisy was depicted with a positive pregnancy test in her hand.
During the episode, Gail consistently reminded each of her children that they were 'always her favorite.'
