Confirmed Chelsea line up vs Heidenheim
Enzo Maresca has altered the lineup significantly for today’s UEFA Conference League match against Heidenheim, making 10 substitutions. The only player to keep his spot in the team is Benoit Badiashile.
Badiashile completed the entire match during Saturday's 2-1 victory against Leicester City and is set to start again in the upcoming game against Heidenheim. Maresca has chosen the same defensive lineup as the previous Conference League match, where they secured an impressive 8-0 victory over Noah at Stamford Bridge.
This signifies that Filip Jorgensen will be stationed in goal, while Badiashile is anticipated to join Tosin Adarabioyo in central defense. Renato Veiga and today's captain, Axel Disasi, will serve as the full-backs.
Kieran Dewsbury-Hall and Cesare Casadei take their positions in the midfield, with Casadei starting for the Blues for the third time in his career. He has also appeared in the starting lineup for this season's Carabao Cup victory against Barrow and the win over Gent in the Conference League.
Marc Guiu is expected to spearhead the offense, just as he did in the match against Noah. Jadon Sancho, who is starting for the first time since last month's game at Liverpool after coming off the bench at Leicester, along with Mykhailo Mudryk, will take the wing positions. This means Christopher Nkunku is likely to play just behind the striker in the No10 position—a role that Maresca emphasized as the French international's most effective spot during yesterday's pre-game press conference.
Young academy players Kiano Dyer, Samuel Rak-Sakyi, Tyrique George, and Shumaira Mheuka are included on the bench for the match. If Dyer and Mheuka step onto the field tonight, they will be making their senior debuts. Meanwhile, Rak-Sakyi and George have already played in this season's Conference League matches.
Chelsea's lineup includes Jorgensen, Disasi as captain, Tosin, Badiashile, Veiga, Casadei, Dewsbury-Hall, Sancho, Nkunku, Mudryk, and Guiu.
Alternates: Bergstrom, Sanchez, Colwill, Chukwuemeka, Dyer, Rak-Sakyi, George, Joao Felix, Madueke, Mheuka
Heidenheim's lineup includes Muller, Traore, Mainka (captain), Siersleben, Theuerkauf, Dorsch, Maloney, Scienza, Wanner, Honsak, and Kaufmann.
Alternatives: Eicher, Feller, Busch, Schoppner, Gimber, Breunig, Fohrenbach, Kerber, Beck, Negele, Conteh, Janes.
