Tyler Denny beaten by classy Hamzah Sheeraz inside two rounds

Hamzah Sheeraz

The middleweight fighter from Rowley Regis was knocked down for the first time ever just 13 seconds into the match. He struggled to find his rhythm throughout the fight, which was a letdown, especially considering he was up against the extremely talented Sheeraz.

Denny, fighting to keep his European title, found himself knocked down again in the middle of the second round. Referee Mark Bates decided to stop the fight, seeing that the 33-year-old was struggling to stay upright.

Sheeraz has claimed victory in 17 out of his 21 matches through stoppage, with an impressive streak of 15 consecutive wins. He has certainly demonstrated his status as the favorite in these competitions.

At just 25 years old, he clearly had significant benefits over Denny in both height and reach, making him look like a potential world champion.

However, Denny is likely to feel extremely disappointed with how he performed. The fighter, trained by BCB Promotions, had been enjoying an incredible streak in British boxing, having defeated five opponents who had previously never lost in his last eight matches.

However, he struggled to find his rhythm against the powerful Sheeraz. An early misstep resulted in him hitting the mat, and although he made an effort to bounce back, he kept getting hit with strong punches.

A different combination in the middle of the second round brought the fight to an end, as Denny couldn't persuade referee Bates that he was able to keep going.
