Gus Atkinson has his name on both honours boards at Lord's after brilliant century against Sri Lanka

London (AP) - Gus Atkinson has achieved a remarkable feat during his debut test cricket season by earning a spot on both of England's prestigious honours boards at Lord's.

The fast bowler scored his first ever hundred in a professional cricket match on the second day of the second test against Sri Lanka at the famous cricket ground. He reached 100 runs after hitting a strong shot straight down the field for four runs, taking only 103 balls to achieve this milestone. He also hit four sixes during his exciting innings.

When a player scores 100 runs in a cricket match, they earn a spot on the honours boards at Lord's. The same goes for taking five wickets in a single innings or 10 wickets in a match, a feat that Atkinson accomplished during his first test match last month.

In the initial test match against the West Indies, Atkinson, who is 26 years old, achieved an impressive score of 7 wickets for 45 runs and 5 wickets for 61 runs.
