Lisa Faulkner, known for her role in Holby City and married to MasterChef judge John Torode, revealed that Greg Wallace made a series of “inappropriate jokes” while she was a contestant on the show.
Wallace is being accused of making sexually inappropriate remarks towards a woman who worked at the BBC in 2018. He has rejected these allegations, stating that they were looked into back then and determined not to be of a sexual nature.
Faulkner, 52, claimed the title of Celebrity MasterChef in 2010 and continued to keep in touch with judge Torode even after the competition wrapped up. The pair eventually tied the knot in 2019.
While promoting their new cookbook, John and Lisa’s Kitchen, at the Cheltenham Literature Festival last week, Faulkner cautiously shared insights about her journey.
"Gregg mentioned – I might not be supposed to share this… he kept sharing one inappropriate joke after another with the team," Faulkner shared with the audience, as reported by the Daily Mail.
You're simply sitting there, and if you're in the front row, you're just cutting up your notes, thinking, "Only ten minutes to go," while he's saying, "So, a woman walks into a bar..."
"And I'm thinking to myself, 'I really don't want to listen to this joke.'"
Torode came to his co-star's defense by saying, "It has really undergone a lot of changes..."
According to The Sun, Wallace, who is 59 years old, allegedly boasted about his sexual relationship with his wife, Anna Wallace, and even removed his shirt in front of an employee back in 2018.
The television personality and ex-host of Inside the Factory strongly refuted the allegations, posting a video on Instagram on the morning of October 14.
“Good morning. Regarding what has been reported in the newspapers, he clarified that these claims were examined by the BBC six years ago.”
"Six years ago, the BBC looked into the claims, and they concluded that my remarks were not of a sexual nature. I want to emphasize that they were definitely not sexual. Thank you."
Wallace, expressing his deep affection for his 37-year-old wife Anna, emphasized that it was crucial for him to make it clear that he wasn't "flirting" with anyone other than her.
"There's another point I want to emphasize—one that I feel passionately about, enough to share it on [Instagram]. No one, whether six years ago or at any time since, has ever claimed that I was flirting with or pursuing anyone."
Last year, the host left Inside the Factory due to claims of making "inappropriate" remarks to female employees.
