Graham Potter responds to Man Utd and England job links
Graham Potter has expressed that he is "open to all possibilities" as he considers his comeback to football management, with speculation surrounding potential roles with the England national team and Manchester United.
The 49-year-old has been unemployed since April 2023 when he was let go by Chelsea after achieving only 12 victories in 31 matches while managing the team in west London.
Erik ten Hag is facing mounting pressure at Manchester United after a 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend. During the summer, when the club's management was considering potential replacements, Graham Potter was mentioned as one of the candidates before they ultimately chose to extend the Dutch manager's contract.

During an appearance on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, the ex-Brighton manager sidestepped a question regarding whether he had discussed the possibility of taking over at Manchester United.
"I’m the only coach in the entire world of football who has been associated with both Stoke City and Napoli within the same week," he stated.
Much of what I've seen in the news is inaccurate and misleading. I approach media reports with skepticism. I've engaged in numerous discussions with various individuals, but out of respect for everyone involved, I prefer to keep those conversations confidential.
“I believe that nothing is truly impossible, but finding a job can be challenging. That's just how it is in the Premier League. For a major team like Manchester United, if they're not ranked in the top six, they'll inevitably face a lot of criticism.”
Potter has been discussed as a potential candidate for the England coaching position. The Football Association is actively searching for a permanent replacement for Gareth Southgate, who resigned following Euro 2024. In the meantime, Lee Carsley is serving as the interim manager while the search continues.
"As someone from England, I think it's a great role, but I'm on board with whatever the Football Association decides and whoever they choose as the coach," he remarked.
"I believe Gareth performed exceptionally well, and I'm confident that Lee will do a great job in his position, however long he stays there. He will excel."
When asked whether he would rather focus on international football or go back to club management, Potter replied, “I’m open to any opportunities, really.”
Over the past 12 years, I've experienced an incredible adventure, moving from the fourth division of Swedish football to reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League. I hope to continue on this path for another 12 years, focused on nurturing talent, building strong teams, collaborating with others, and making a positive impact.
"I'm open to any place or opportunity that comes my way."
He expressed, "I'm aware of my skills and what I'm capable of. It's important for me to find the right opportunity that fits well."
