On Thursday's intense MasterChef: Battle Of The Critics special, Grace Dent was overcome with emotion when her cooking was praised and she couldn't help but cry.

The food evaluator, who was 50 years old, couldn't control her feelings when the judges, John Torode and Gregg Wallace, complimented a meal she had prepared for the program.

Dent, who frequently critiques on BBC’s MasterChef, participated in their holiday special by preparing a flavorful butter chicken entree accompanied by rice.

After presenting her dish to the judges, Dent appeared noticeably nervous as she waited for their professional evaluation of the meal she had cooked.

Sharing their thoughts on Dent's cuisine, Torode expressed his admiration, stating that he really enjoyed it. Wallace chimed in, exclaiming that he could consume it generously from a ladle and commending Dent for a job well done!

Following some favorable comments, Wallace inquired of Dent: "Golly, you're rendered speechless. I've never observed you in this state. Are you doing okay, my friend?"

A sentimental Dent responded by saying, "Please don't, really."

I had intended to make numerous clever remarks and engage in playful banter, but instead I find myself sitting here with a quivering lip.

Dent mentioned that she is filled with pride and became emotional, shedding tears.

The special episode of MasterChef, called "Battle of the Critics," was aired on the BBC. This particular episode was unique in that it featured food critics instead of home cooks competing against one another. The critics were divided into two teams, and they were each given the task of preparing a full course meal. The judges were the usual MasterChef experts: John Torode and Gregg Wallace. The critics worked hard to impress them with their creations, but only one team was declared the winner at the end of the competition. It was an exciting and intense event, made even better by the impressive culinary skills displayed by the critics.

"I apologize. I'm not sure what's happening to me," she included.

When Dent went back to her desk and talked to the cameras afterwards, she shared, "I didn't really know how much it meant to me until they complimented my food in the end and that's when my emotions surfaced."

"It relieves all of the burden from your shoulders. I felt more buoyant and excited, and definitely a bit satisfied with my accomplishment."
