Gordon Moore, who was a trailblazer in Silicon Valley and contributed significantly to philanthropic causes, has passed away at the ripe old age of 94 in Hawaii.

In the 1950s, Mr Moore commenced his work on semiconductors and also played a critical role in establishing the Intel Corporation.

He gained fame for forecasting that the capabilities of computer processing technology would increase twofold every year - which he later adjusted to every two years - a concept widely recognized as Moore's Law.

This "rule" served as the foundation for the production of computer processors and had an impact on the evolution of personal computers.

Twenty years prior to the advent of the computer revolution, Moore penned an article stating that the fusion of circuits would bring about remarkable innovations, such as household computers - or, at the very least, terminals that are connected to a central computer - self-regulating mechanisms in cars, and mobile communication devices for individual use.

In the article from 1965, he noted that the amount of transistors on microchips had been increasing by roughly double each year since the creation of integrated circuits, all thanks to advancements in technology.

Moore's observation that this trend would persist went on to be referred to as Moore's Law, prompting chip manufacturers to focus their endeavors on realizing this forecast.

Following the article written by Moore, the capability and cost-effectiveness of memory chips experienced a remarkable surge.

In his writing, Mr. Moore included a drawing that forecasted a future where computers would be available for purchase alongside other products intended for everyday use.

Moore became part of the team at the Fairchild Semiconductor laboratory after completing his PhD. The lab specialized in producing transistors and integrated circuits that were profitable for the company.

The growth of that organization set the foundation for the conversion of the strip of land below San Francisco into the current renowned Silicon Valley.

Moore and Robert Noyce departed from Fairchild and established Intel in the year 1968.

The contribution of Moore fostered tremendous advancement in technology across the globe and paved the way for the development of personal computers as well as popular companies like Apple, Facebook, and Google.

In a 2008 interview, Moore stated that his intention was to convey the idea that the continuous addition of features to a chip would ultimately result in a reduction in the cost of electronic devices.

In a social media post, Intel Corporation honored their co-founder, describing him as a person with outstanding foresight. They expressed their sorrow for his passing.

The present CEO of Intel, Pat Gelsinger, expressed that Gordon Moore had shaped the technological sector with his knowledge and foresight, motivating technicians and business owners throughout the years.

He has left a lasting impact that transformed the existence of every individual inhabiting the Earth. He will be remembered forever.

Mr. Gelsinger expressed his humility in a post on Twitter after gaining acquaintance with him.

Moore committed his remaining years to charity, following the establishment of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation together with his partner Betty. The foundation centered primarily on ecological initiatives.

Some of the reasons mentioned were safeguarding the Amazon River basin and conserving salmon streams located in the United States, Canada, and Russia.

The president of the foundation, Harvey Fineberg, stated that Gordon's wisdom, humility, and generosity left an eternal impact on those who have had the chance to meet and cooperate with him.

Moore was granted the Medal of Freedom in 2002 by President George W Bush which is regarded as the most esteemed accolade a non-military person can receive in the United States.
