Get ready for some thrilling events on the Southeastern "Trainsylvania" service to Pluckley this Halloween!

Southeastern has teamed up with Toyologist Peter Jenkinson, along with immersive storytellers and board game specialists, to provide a unique service featuring board games and entertainment. They aim to inspire a festive atmosphere among passengers in celebration of All Saints' Eve.

Renowned as the most haunted location in the UK, travelers from Charing Cross will hear eerie tales and spine-tingling stories as they head to Pluckley. Once they arrive, they can dive into the village's fascinating history and learn how it earned its haunted reputation. Additionally, listeners can enjoy more haunting stories through the Southeastern 'Hop on Board' podcast series, where Rav Wilding explores some of Kent's unsolved enigmas.

The games offered on the train cater to passengers of all ages, ensuring there's plenty to keep everyone in the carriage entertained. As a special bonus, those who join in on the games will have the chance to take them home afterward.

To enhance the Halloween vibe, there will be a specially carved pumpkin displaying the Southeastern logo, along with a #ghosttrain sticker on the windows—ideal for snapping those Instagram-ready photos. Dressed-up game enthusiasts and a storyteller will create an immersive Halloween experience for everyone.

Peter Jenkinson, a specialist in toys and a journalist focusing on board games, stated:

"What a fantastic way to celebrate Halloween by engaging in themed games that truly capture the spirit of this growing holiday! We’re constantly looking for ways to encourage more people to play together more frequently in the toy industry. This event provides us with another wonderful opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the fun and excitement."

Matt Hawken, the Area Manager at Southeastern, expressed:

"We're excited to provide our customers with a one-of-a-kind and exhilarating experience this Halloween with our Ghost Train to Pluckley. This is a wonderful chance to team up with game developers, have fun with some scary games, and make lasting memories. We look forward to seeing everyone dressed up in their Halloween costumes!"

"We are committed to making it simpler for people in London, Kent, and certain areas of Sussex to leave their cars behind and opt for train travel."

Becky McKinlay, the Marketing Director at Big Potato, stated:

"We're thrilled to be involved in this exciting experience on board. Anything that brings people together for fun is a big win in our book!"
