Iconic Kent supermodel dies ‘suddenly’ aged 46
A famous British supermodel recognized for her incredible beauty in the 1990s has passed away while vacationing in Greece.
Georgina Cooper, originally from South London but now residing in Kent, is said to have died while on vacation in Kos.
It is known that the 46-year-old woman had made her home in Bearsted, close to Maidstone, alongside her family and husband, Nigel, while also being employed in the village.
The couple tied the knot earlier this year, celebrating their wedding reception at the Fox and Goose in Weavering. Afterwards, they enjoyed their honeymoon in Kos.
Georgina began her modeling journey at just 13 years old when her mother signed her up for the Elite Look of the Year competition in 1992, where she secured third place.
After making an appearance in Bon Jovi’s music video when she was just 15, she quickly became famous in the 1990s.
She gained fame as the "first gap-toothed model," participating in fashion shows and gracing the covers of legendary magazines.
In a 2018 conversation with The Cultural Omnivore, Georgina mentioned that she chose to pursue a different career direction after the birth of her son, Sonny.
She mentioned, "I’m employed in the hospitality field, and I genuinely enjoy it since I thrive on interacting with others."
"Once I had my son, I found it really hard to leave him by himself. I wanted to always be there for him."
"I attempted to keep modeling, but it truly hurt me to have to part ways with him for my job."
As reported by MailOnline, the mother of one fell ill while she was at a hotel in Kos, Greece, on Monday, October 21, prompting the staff to summon an ambulance for assistance.
Her previous agent, Dean Goodman, informed the newspaper about her death in a statement released yesterday (November 8).
He mentioned, "She was passionate about Greece and had shared her plans to return there with her new husband. Unfortunately, she passed away there two weeks ago."
Georgina had experienced health issues during the Covid pandemic, leading to several hospital visits as she struggled with her condition.
“But she was already envisioning her future. After just getting married, she was excited about what lay ahead.”
The public is still unaware of the reason for her death.
Following the announcement, many heartfelt tributes have been pouring in online from individuals in the fashion world.
British model and presenter Jade Parfitt expressed her heartbreak by stating, "I'm deeply saddened to announce the news of George's death."
"One of the craziest and cheekiest, not to mention most attractive friends, was George. We all wanted to spend time with him behind the scenes."
"Sending all my love to her son, family, and friends. Taken from us far too early."
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, former agent Dean Goodman expressed his deep sorrow by sharing photos of Georgina from her prime. He stated that he is “completely heartbroken.”
He said, "I'm completely stunned. I spoke to her recently about getting together after her wedding."
“She was the first girl with a charming gap between her teeth!”
"I will miss her so much. Rest in peace, Georgie girl. You'll always be in my memories and my heart. Until we meet again."
