Gemma Collins shared a moving story on Instagram Thursday, recalling how her mother was left alone in the hospital as an infant. This was part of a sneak peek for her upcoming TV appearance.

Gemma, a well-known media figure, aged 43, is set to appear in the episode of BBC's Who Do You Think You Are? airing this Thursday night.

The popular series from the BBC focuses on famous individuals who explore their ancestral roots.

The show has been running since 2004, and the 21st season began in August featuring actress Vicky McClure.

In Thursday's episode, Gemma will try to locate her mother Joan's biological family.

Gemma Collins, 43, shared a personal story about her mother being left alone in a hospital in a preview clip posted to Instagram on Thursday, promoting her upcoming TV appearance.

Media figure Gemma is set to appear in the episode of BBC's "Who Do You Think You Are?" airing on Thursday night.

In a video, she mentioned, "My mom spent time in foster care. Why was she abandoned at the hospital? Why didn't anyone come back for her? She never brings it up. I believe it's just too hurtful for her to discuss it."

In the video, Gemma shares, "My mom was in foster care. What happened that she was abandoned at the hospital? Why didn't anyone attempt to bring her back? She never discusses it. I get the feeling it's too hard for her to revisit those memories."

The video wraps up with Gemma expressing, "It would be great to discover my mother's origins and connect all the dots."

Every episode of Who Do You Think You Are? focuses on a different British celebrity.

Over the course of its twenty-year journey, Who Do You Think You Are? has explored the genealogies of many notable figures, including Adil Ray, Kate Winslet, Jeremy Clarkson, Barbara Windsor, Stephen Fry, J.K. Rowling, Daniel Radcliffe, and numerous others.

Gemma Collins is set to feature in episode 7 of series 21 of Who Do You Think You Are? The episode will be broadcast on BBC One and available for streaming on BBC iPlayer at 9 PM.

Gemma has expressed her excitement about the chance of being connected to the infamous serial killer Jack The Ripper.

Jack, whose true identity remains unknown, is infamously recognized as the most infamous serial killer in Britain. He killed five women and instilled fear in London throughout 1888, yet he was never apprehended.

Gemma thinks she has figured out who Jack the Ripper really was, and she is certain that she is somehow connected to him.

She became convinced of the connection while watching Who Do You Think You Are? after learning that her ancestors had lived on Dorset Street in East London, the same place where Jack had left some of his victims' disfigured bodies.
