After Joe Biden's poor showing in the US debates, some members of the Democratic party are said to be feeling panicked.

Unnamed sources within the party have reportedly proposed replacing Biden in the weeks leading up to the party's convention. If this were to happen, it would officially confirm him as the candidate for the November election.

Many names have been suggested, but some people are saying that California governor Gavin Newsom could be the best choice to take over as president. Who is he and how did he rise to prominence within the Democratic party?

Newsom is a native of San Francisco, with family roots dating back four generations. He was born in the year 1967.

Even though he had dyslexia, he successfully completed his schooling and went on to graduate from university.

He also played baseball and was talented enough to receive a partial athletic scholarship to Santa Clara University, where he earned his degree before pursuing a career in business.

He was previously married to Kimberly Guilfoyle, who was a district attorney at the time. After their divorce, he married Jennifer Siebel, who is now his current wife. They have four children together.

Throughout the years, his company has expanded to include restaurants and hotels before he shifted his focus to politics.

Newsom began his political career at the ground level in the United States, serving on the Parking and Traffic Commission in San Francisco in 1996.

The local news outlets referred to the promising newcomer as a "social liberal and a vigilant guardian of finances".

He worked in the front lines of his state's politics for several years before being elected mayor of San Francisco in 2003. He served two terms in that role.

Newsom gained national recognition when he supported same-sex marriages, going against state laws.

However, despite facing criticism, his popularity kept growing and in 2019, he won a landslide victory to become the Governor of California.

However, his tenure as the leader of the largest state in the US has faced challenges.

Opponents of Newsom highlight a subpar track record on various important matters.

This includes a well-known problem with people not having homes - and California is responsible for a large portion of the country's homeless population - as well as serious issues with drugs, immigration, laws, and safety, high taxes, and more.

Who will be the next leader of the Democratic party?

Dubbed as a "Biden ally" by MNSBC due to his frequent support for the party, the governor embodies all the typical qualities of an American president.

Unlike Biden, Newsom is able to easily share factual information and engage in debates with Republicans during interviews.

After the debate, Newsom quickly came to the defense of his party leader, saying: "We have the opportunity to support the president who has supported us. We shouldn't betray him."

However, even though Newsom openly supports Biden, he has always been eager to enhance his image.

Now that he is not able to run for California governor again, he is spending his time debating prominent Republicans and plans to travel through six states to help with the election, he mentioned.

No matter what Newsom believes about his actions benefiting the Democratic Party, it's clear that he is not hurting his public image in this election.

Newsom has spent several years working his way up to this position, which has supposedly left him well-prepared in terms of funding, campaign organization, and communication.

Newsom is following a common trend among those aspiring to become president - he's working on a book about his life.

Connection between dyslexia, pandas, King Charles, and Donald Trump

Newsom suffers from a serious learning disability called dyslexia, which makes it difficult for him to read aloud from papers or spell correctly in public. However, this hasn't stopped the Democratic politician from giving long speeches without notes, relying solely on his memory.

He wrote a book about dyslexia because he couldn't find one for his children, and all the money from it went to charity.

His mom, who was raising him and his sister on her own by working many jobs, didn't tell him about the diagnosis to shield him from the truth.

Because of Newsom's hard work, along with other people in California, the state might be the first to host a new pair of giant pandas through a conservation partnership with China.

They are expected to come by the end of the summer following the signing of the agreement earlier this year.

In 2005, when Gavin Newsom was the mayor of San Francisco, he went to a project that helped homeless people with Prince Charles and his wife Camilla.

In the meantime, Newsom has a strange connection to the Trump family, as his former wife, Ms. Guilfoyle, is now set to marry Donald Trump Jr.

If he becomes a prominent figure in the Democratic party, he could find himself in opposition to his former spouse once more.
