Many people flying in airplanes had their trips messed up because Gatwick Airport had to shut down its runway because a plane broke down.

The airport reported that 23 flights had to be cancelled because a plane had overheated brakes before takeoff.

The report mentioned that the runway is now free of obstacles and is functioning as usual. The disabled aircraft has also been relocated.

The airport announced that the runway would be out of service for a duration of 50 minutes.

The situation occurred with a flight from British Airways heading to Vancouver in Canada.

A message from the airline stated that the pilots decided to cancel the take-off as a precaution because of a technical problem.

Safety is our main concern and we are sorry for the trouble this may have caused our customers.
