Our Totally Accurate Predictions Ahead of the Game Awards 2024
The Game Awards 2024 is just about to happen (less than two hours from now, as I write this)! People are buzzing with excitement. It’s become the new Christmas for gamers since the end of E3. Each year, the Game Awards showcases an incredible lineup of games. Although the 2024 event has kept most of its surprises under wraps, there are definitely some intriguing rumors floating around!
As we prepare to enjoy the big event together, we thought it would be fun to share our lighthearted, completely assured predictions for the 2024 Game Awards! Let's kick things off with:
What To Expect At The 2024 Game Awards?

Each year, I make the same request, and each time, I'm left feeling let down. Therefore, I've decided to accept that neither Banjo nor Kazooie will appear at the 2024 Game Awards and just move on. But tonight is different—it’s all about Hollow Knight! I truly believe that this will be the moment we finally get a glimpse of Silksong! Team Cherry has been hard at work, fine-tuning and refining everything behind the scenes.
Dear Team Cherry, I'm starting to lose hope for Banjo and Bully 2. Can you at least give us fans a small victory? Even if it's just someone dressed in a sweaty Hornet costume making an appearance to remind us why we should hold on to our hopes. If I finally see you, Silksong, all the waiting in 2024 and the years after will feel a bit more worthwhile. Sort of. (And come on, there's no chance we'll see Half-Life 3 show up. Not happening.)

I have high hopes for the 2024 Game Awards. Forget about being practical; the excitement in gaming comes from dreaming big. I’d love to see a new Banjo-Kazooie title. [Editor’s Note: This person knows what’s up!] I’m also eager to see what Guerrilla Games has in store for us.
I'm craving all the excitement that comes with the holiday season! However, I do have one reasonable request. I would love to catch a small glimpse of what Naughty Dog has been up to. I understand that the major reveal won't happen until next year, but even a tiny teaser would be appreciated.

Over the past year, there have been quiet hints from leakers and people in the industry about a possible remake of Final Fantasy IX. Fans have speculated that Creative Business Unit 3, the group responsible for FFXIV, might be involved, especially since there are noticeable FFIX references in the latest expansion, Dawntrail. Although FFXIV's producer, Yoshi-P, has dismissed the idea of his team being involved, he hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility that Square Enix is working on something. So, there’s still a glimmer of hope for fans! With Final Fantasy VII Rebirth receiving seven nominations, including Game of the Year, now would be the perfect moment to hint at a revival of Final Fantasy IX.
As for the other big surprise that’s expected at tonight’s 2024 Game Awards, come on, id Software and Bethesda—how about giving us a new QUAKE? We’ve drained every last drop of demon juice from DOOM, and we’ve turned numerous Nazis into charred remains in the recent Wolfenstein games. Now is the moment for your legendary title to make a comeback. While Quake Champions attempts to tackle the hero shooter trend, those of us who love the classic “boomer shooter” genre are eagerly hoping to see the original champion return to glory.

I realize this is unlikely to happen, and I shouldn’t get my hopes up at all. However, after spending five years wishing for a true sequel to Gex, I can’t help but think tonight might be the night. With the amazing excitement around the Limited Run Gex trilogy, there's never been a better moment for this charming green gecko to come back. A few thoughts weigh on my mind and heart, like the image of a Gen Alpha Gex saying “no cap.” Still, I’d be ready to let go of some of the nostalgia from my childhood for the chance of a new game.
It's likely that his personality would need some adjustments. The concept of Gex is probably one that should remain in the past. Still, I can't help but feel a bit nostalgic for that quirky gecko. Thinking about this prediction for the 2024 Game Awards gives me the same awkward vibe as Baby Gronk trying to impress Livvy Dunne. Maybe I'm not really interested in a new Gex game after all.
