Travelers might be able to cut their costs by as much as 21 percent by flying on Friday the 13th instead of any other Friday throughout the year.

According to the flight comparison site Kayak, travelers who booked flights from London airports to Europe on Friday the 13th in September could have saved 21 percent, which amounts to a £99 discount, compared to the typical cost of round-trip economy tickets on other, potentially luckier Fridays in 2024.

Although some superstitious people in the UK might avoid flying on what is traditionally seen as an unlucky day, those who are bold enough to book a flight on Friday the 13th could potentially save some money on their vacation.

Travelers who managed to snag a budget flight might have flown to destinations like Paris, Prague, and Krakow, where round-trip tickets from London were available for less than £100, according to the travel search engine.

Travelers who made reservations on September 12 could have found round-trip flights from Stansted to Nantes, France for only £57. A return journey from Luton to Edinburgh would have been just £88, while round-trip tickets from London Southend to Paris were available for a low price of £98.

If you're planning to book a flight for Friday the 13th, you'll be pleased to know that there are plenty of popular European destinations offering affordable flights on this day associated with superstition.

One of the most affordable round-trip flights is to Austria, where travelers can find tickets from London airports to Salzburg for approximately £187, as reported by Kayak's database on September 13.

If you didn't get a chance to take advantage of the low prices this time around, there's still another Friday the 13th coming up in 2024. That might be unfortunate for anyone who dreads the date, but it's excellent news for travelers looking for airline deals.
