ITV Bullseye viewers issue same plea as Freddie Flintoff makes TV return
Fans of ITV are requesting that the channel revive Bullseye for a new series, with Freddie Flintoff as the host, following the overwhelming success of the recent Christmas special.
The popular darts-themed game show made its comeback to television on Sunday night (December 22) for a special holiday episode. The show originally premiered in 1981 and aired for 14 years with Jim Bowen as the host. It made a short return in 2006, with Alan Carr taking over the hosting duties.
In this episode, cricket icon Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff stepped in as the host, teaming up with darts sensation Luke Littler and professional darts announcer Richard Ashdown. The program features three teams, each consisting of an amateur darts player paired with a quiz fan, all competing for a variety of prizes.

Fans flocked to social media to express their excitement about the show's comeback, with numerous people praising Freddie for his role as host. The star had stepped back from television after experiencing a life-threatening high-speed accident while filming Top Gear in 2022, which resulted in serious facial injuries and multiple broken ribs.
Freddie Flintoff was the host of the Christmas special of Bullseye on ITV.
Fans were excited to see him return to television and took to X to express their belief that he would be an ideal host for a revival of the show. @thaknowsnowt commented, "Bullseye has returned to the air, but having Freddie Flintoff host it after his accident is even more amazing! He’s incredible." Meanwhile, @RKH4658 shared, "I have to admit, I’ve really liked @flintoff11 hosting #Bullseye. I hope he continues with it, to be honest."
Carole Gym shared her enthusiasm for Bullseye with Freddie Flintoff, urging ITV to make it a regular feature. Peter H. Todd chimed in, expressing his excitement for the show and calling for a full season to be produced in 2025.
@putthetellyon expressed: “I believe Freddie has the potential to really take the show in a fresh direction. It’s clear that the program needs someone who can step in and replace Jim Bowen, but it feels like it’s stuck in the past.”
@AlexCasswell shared: "I was pleasantly surprised by the new Bullseye. Freddie Flintoff did a commendable job as the host, and @LittleRichard was fantastic. They didn't stray too far from the original format, which I appreciated. The only downside was missing the classic intro, but I'd be in favor of this getting picked up for a full series."
