Francesco Totti: Serie A Teams Want Me Back

Sure! However, I need the specific section of the blog you'd like me to rewrite in order to help you. Could you please provide the text?

Francesco Totti, the legendary player from Roma, has stated that clubs in Serie A are still reaching out to him to inquire about a possible comeback to professional football. He mentioned that he believes it would take him about two to three months of training to get back into shape for playing.

Totti, now 48 years old, hung up his boots in 2017 after dedicating his whole career to Roma. He made 786 appearances and netted 307 goals for the Giallorossi.

"Some Serie A clubs reached out to me. I have to confess, they got me thinking—it was a bit of a wild notion," Totti remarked. "It would be challenging, but you never know what could happen in life."

Some athletes continue to play long after they retire. The location of play also matters, and with all due respect, if I were to come back to Serie A, I would need to put in a lot of effort to train properly.

The 2006 World Cup champion stated that he would turn down an offer from Lazio, Roma's fierce competitors, if they sought to recruit him.

"Lazio? That's not even on my radar," he remarked. "I could get back into shape in a couple of months—I'm still active at 48. If I were to take a wild leap, it would be in Italy, not in another country, but honestly, it's a bit of a stretch."

Totti, who represented Italy 58 times, mentioned that he didn’t decide to retire on his own terms.

"When you flip to the next page, the future is always a mystery. I didn't choose this path, but at that moment, it has to be felt in a way that goes beyond the situation," he mentioned.

"Perhaps that's why I've felt this conflict within me. It's a fact that everything has a start and a finish. I didn't want it to come to an end, so I kept that door ajar."

Roma has had a tough beginning to the 2023-24 season, leading to the dismissal of long-time player Daniele De Rossi after the team struggled to secure a victory in their first four league matches.

They currently sit in 10th place in the rankings, with Ivan Jurić winning two out of four home games since he took over as coach.
