The tournament's renowned athlete, who is aged 25, suffered injuries to his face and clothing after colliding with Kevin Danso, a defender from Austria, while vying for a header.

Following Mbappe's assist for the singular goal of the match, he unfortunately missed a significant opportunity to score a second goal.

After his departure from the stadium, he was taken to a medical facility on an ambulance for X-ray tests. The French Football Federation (FFF) announced afterwards that he sustained a broken nose and will have a customized mask created for him.

During the news conference held after the match, manager Didier Deschamps used the words "really bad" to describe the injury.

"We'll need to be patient and await the medical professionals' intervention. Following their assessment, we will determine the next course of action and the time frame required. It is disheartening news for us this evening," he expressed.

"Clearly, the presence or absence of him on the French team makes a significant difference. I am hopeful that he will be able to participate."

France has been dealt a major setback with the injury of one of their players, just before their upcoming match against the Netherlands scheduled on Friday.

However, this does not signify the termination of the French striker's involvement in the tournament.

'Do you have any suggestions for the types of masks we can wear?'

Mbappe seemed to not take his injury seriously as he asked his 14 million fanbase on X if they could suggest some mask ideas.

According to the FFF, players can contemplate restarting the competition after a dedicated period of treatment by wearing a mask.

It's unlikely that he'll have surgery right away.

Ivan Schranz from Slovakia skillfully directed the ball into the far corner at a difficult angle. The maneuver was closely examined by VAR but ultimately upheld.

After the VAR review, Romelu Lukaku, who is the top scorer for Belgium, seemed to say sorry to the supporters because he was not able to score two goals that would have tied the game.
