The Surrey County Council has given the green light to Ashford Town (Middlesex) Football Club's proposal for a new 3G Community Football Pitch. The club will be receiving a grant of £99,999 from the Your Fund Surrey Large Community Projects fund.

This large investment will help with the creation of a new 3G community soccer field, making a significant advancement for local soccer in the area.

The brand new 3G field will offer a top-notch facility for nearby teams, schools, and community organizations, creating a bustling atmosphere for players of every age and skill level. This initiative highlights Surrey County Council's dedication to improving community sports facilities and encouraging healthy, active lifestyles in the area of Spelthorne and surrounding areas.

Denise Turner-Stewart, who works for Surrey County Council as the Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Customer and Communities, expressed her excitement about providing funding for Ashford Town (Middlesex) Football Club. She believes that the new 3G pitch will greatly benefit the community by offering a top-notch playing area that can be used throughout the year to promote fitness and well-being for residents.

It's great to see this investment happening in Stanwell, where this kind of facility is really needed. It's a wonderful example of how Your Fund Surrey is making a meaningful difference in our communities by backing projects that create lasting good.

The Chairman of Ashford Town Club, Nick Bailey, expressed gratitude towards Your Fund Surrey for their financial assistance in the upcoming project at the club. This project will not only help the teams but also benefit the local community, reflecting the club's focus on being community-driven.

The team has a rich tradition of supporting soccer at the community level. The fresh field will enable various events for groups that don't always get the chance to participate, like women, girls, individuals with disabilities, young people, and seniors, making it possible for more hopeful players to join in. This funding arrives at a thrilling period for soccer in England, after the national team's outstanding showing in the 2024 European Championship, now making it to the semi-finals.

In addition to major community projects, there are also grants available through programs like Councillors for Your Fund Surrey Small Community Funding and Your Councillor Community Funding.
